The drilling of unconventional wells on the Augustine Pad continues.
Cecil is one of the latest Pennsylvania townships to realize current gas well regulations aren’t enough for keeping nearby residents happy. One family is just over 500-feet away from the Augustine well pad, which is situated between their house and a new housing plan.

There have been multiple calls for well setbacks to be increased from 500-feet to 2,500-feet (about 1/2-mile) in various Pennsylvania municipalities, which industry argues would basically ban drilling.
The most effective method of protecting residents (and limiting drilling) has been restricting it to INDUSTRIAL ZONES.
